My new/old album, Hurts & Joys, is out today!

Hello Rabbit Hole Fam,

I’m coming at you from a work trip across the pond to let you know that as of this morning at 12 AM EST, my album, Hurts & Joys, is out now and you can listen to it anywhere you listen to music.

This album originally came out in 2015, and, for the rerelease, I changed it around and added a song or two to balance out some of the more angsty bits. I added more joys, I guess you could say. I originally released it on Noisetrade, Does anyone remember that? It was a new platform where you could upload music and anyone could download your ish for whatever price they wanted, but they had to give you their email.

It was REALLY successful. It released on the same week Josh Garrels put Love War and the Sea Between up for free and started to explode. It shared the charts with him for a while. However, I had no idea what to do with the attention or the momentum so I didn’t capitalize on it at all. Eventually, I took it off Spotify because,

Reason 1: It was a reminder that I whiffed a good opportunity that I’ve never gotten again.

Reason 2: I couldn’t afford to pay the price to keep it up.

Both were hurts, and now, this rerelease is a joy. I don’t look at it and get frustrated with myself anymore. I knew what I knew and did what I could do. Can’t change that and more than anything, I just want to share my tunes with people. I don’t need massive success or to recreate lightning in a bottle.

Share it and all that other stuff people ask you to do all the time. If nothing else, just call your Mom and tell her I came out with a new song because you probably need to call her anyway.
